1. Tow Path - Newry to Portadown, Co. Down
An excellent trail for beginners to try off road cycling. A mixture of gravel and tarmac trails that takes you on a wildlife journey along the scenic banks of the canal.
1 - 3. Big Wood - Newry, Co. Down
Singletrack heaven for intermediate riders or anyone looking for a challenge. Best visited between April/June for a ride through the bluebells, but outstanding any time of year.
3 - 4. Moneyscalp - Newcastle, Co. Down
First choice for the local downhillers to test their skills. A short, steep climb that leads you into the many technically challenging trails on offer.
2 - 4. Kilbroney - Rostrevor, Co. Down
Plenty of variety for all types of riders. Experience mountainbiking with breath taking views of Carlingford Lough and take advantage of the excellent facilities at hand.
3 - 4. Yellowwater - Rostrevor, Co. Down
A hidden downhill trail used by top riders to train on. Very challenging and an excellent venue for testing and learning new skills.
1 - 2. Criagavon Lakes - Co. Armagh
This trail has been constructed for riders with basic off road skills. It can be an exciting trail when you get up to speed. An excellent place to bring family / friends for the day and enjoy the facilities on offer.
1 - 3. Slieve Gullion - Co. Armagh
This 8 mile trail follows the forest drive around the historic Slieve Gullion. Its all on the road but the many climbs makes it challenging but well worth it as the views are spectacular. Excellent for family's and groups as this area offers much, much more to do.
Directions to meeting points
Tow path - In Newry at WIN industrial park
Bigwood - From Newry head towards Warrenpoint along the A2. About 3 miles from the roundabout going on to the dual carraigeway park at the enterance to Claddy Quarry.
Moneyscalp- From Hilltown take the B180 towards Newcastle. About 5 miles from Hilltown take a sharp left towards Kilcoo and carpark is 100 metres on left.
From Newcastle take the B180 towards Hilltown. About 2 miles after Bryansford take a right towards Kilcoo and carpark is 100 metres on left.
Kilbroney - From Rostrevor take the A2 towards KIlkeel. About half mile outside Rostrevor the enterance to Kilbroney is on your left. Park in the lower carpark beside cafe.
Yellowwater - From Rostrevor drive through the village and up the hill. Take a right on to the Newtown rd and Yellow Water carpark is 3 miles on your right.
Craigavon Lakes - From the M1 take junction 10 and follow signs for to Craigavon centre. Look for signs to watersports centre at roundabout 3. Park at watersports centre.
Slieve Gullion - From Newry on the A1 take the B113 towards Meigh. follow signs for Slieve Gullion and park at slieve gullion courtyard.
